FORMAL X2

I've had heaps of messages about where to shop for formals in the past few months so i thought i would answer a few questions.
Most of the questions have been about where to shop online and I'm not a big online shopper. This is because I'm really tall i have to be careful about the sizing as sometimes they are either to big or small and i think for a formal you want something that fits perfectly! But if you have bought heaps of things from a certain store and find your dream formal dress then of course get it! I would also recommend if you are going to get your dress online so get it at least a week before the actual formal date and express delivered. This means that you will have time to try it on and if it doesn't fit or you decide you don't like it gives you time to find something else.Looking online first is what i did, it give you a great idea of what celebrities have done in the past and also what hairstyle and even makeup is in!

Hair styles that are always in are:
  • Having your hair out with soft curls or waves, it works for both middle and side parts. Having this hair style is good for a more simple dress as having too much detail on your dress and a statement jewelery piece then your hair out as well can look a bit much.
  • I love a messy braid or plat to the side, i think it works really well with someone with long hair and looks great with a strapless dress!
  • Buns are also very popular at formals and i've done both a messy and slick bun, i loved my messy bun it was low with lots of volume i had a middle part and soft curls in the front. I sometimes find a slick bun a bit boring so what i did was have a plat at the back of my head that worked up into the bun at the top. It looked sick and added a little something to a plain slick bun!
  •  I think that side swept soft curls are a beautiful look but are so overused, especially on the red carpet this year! If you wanted to change it up but why not change it to a side pony. Your already half way there and with a side pony it can even out your face
  • And of course there is the slick of messy high pony tail which always looks great and is so simple.

Smoky eye adds a really dramatic effect!

I'm also loving this dark lipstick at the moment especially on girls with brown hair!

Red Lippy has always been a personal favorite

Above were some of the celebrities hair and makeup styles that i love! I hope it can inspire you and give you a few more ideas of what goes well with what and also about the range of different looks you can go for which is especially good if you are going to multiple formals. I would also recommend that if you are going to a range of different formals to change it up with hair and make up because there are so many different looks out there. I changed form a natural make up to a full on smokey eye, i also did brown shades with a red lip and a few more! I also jumped online and looked at a few stores and here are some of the links i found:

Hope is helps out! Always love getting feedback
